Criteria D

What is evaluation?
An  evaluation is basically you going back over your work and reflecting and seeing what you can improve next time and it is all about judgment. We basically look back at our work and reflect out work.

What is the purpose of evaluation?
The purope of an evaluation is to see what we can improve on if we ever do this again, or we just improve in general. Also another purpose is that we are jsut reflecting on our working looking back at what we have done through out the inter unit.

How can we evaluate the product in Design?
We can go over our design and reflect on it, to see what we can improve. Also ask others to see your design and ask them for there honest opinion. Another way is that we can self asses, so basically just see what you enjoyed doing and what you wish you could have done. It is really helpful to evaluate because you can improve more on your work.

To what extent has the client’s or target audience’s problem been solved?

I think that there problem hasn’t been fully solved but the target audience knows that effect on this issue/problem it has on crossing the road. I made sure that I showed to the dragnet audience that if you dont focus you could get hurt. So the target audience members and knows that they have to do.

·         How does this solution improve the client’s or target audience’s situation?
It helps improve the safety of pedestrians crossing the road/street. Also decreases the chance of death and car accidents, another reasons is that when the target audience crosses the road they remember the effects and they would try to stay safe
·         To what extent has the design brief been met?
I think that I included all my ideas for the scratch, and I think that I achieved my target because I was able to have an impact on my target audience.
·         Are there any negative effects this solution could have?
I think that it would just scare the target audience a bit on crossing the road

Criteria C

I really enjoyed this unit it was very fun and I learnt a lot. I tried to include a lot of things but it was a bit difficult since it was my first time creating a scratch. I include sound effects, I created my spirit, I include movement, I changed my background etc. I included the cars on the road because I wanted that scene to show the girl crossing the road and get getting into the accident. Then I wanted the next scene to get black so as if she blacked out after she got hit by the car. Then after that I included a step where you press the space bar so you can go onto the next scene and that scene is the hospital. Then I added the text to show that the girl that got hit by the car learned an important lesson. After that scene there was the background just saying as a reminder that you must stay safe while crossing the road. But in the end I really enjoyed this unit and I learned a lot about scratch. I think I could have maybe made it a bit longer but it was quite difficult for me to make it longer, again I am new to scratch but I really enjoyed it.

Criteria B

I am going to pick the second one because it is very detailed and because I wasn't very specific in the first one and I didn't meet my expectations for the design specification. I also didn't pick the first one because I didn't include that much text. In my opinion the second sketch is very accurate to my idea and the first one wasn't. I feel like the first sketch was just a story and the second one was going to actually teach someone something very important to do with there safety. For the second it was just a summary and not the full story, but the first one was a very simple story and I didn't like that I wanted tot include a bit more for the second storyboard, which I did do. I wish I just improve on my text a bit and also maybe improve my sketching skills because as I kept drawing drawing the drawings got worse and worse because I just wanted to finish the sketch very quickly. Also the reason I picked this second sketch was because I had a more clear idea in my head, but in the end I really did enjoy this task and I am very proud of my work.

Criterion A

Introduction:
Being safe on the road is very important, but also something that is very necessary is making sure that you are crossing the road safely because some drivers drive very recklessly, most drivers don't watch out for anyone crossing the road. The number of pedestrians killed on the road has fallen steadily in recent decades. In 2013 there were 24,033 reported casualties, including 398 fatalities, among pedestrians in Great Britain. Of these, 316 were crossing the road at the time. Most people are safe but some people aren't safe when they cross because some kids don't know the safety rules. I think that I safety is very important when it comes to being on the road and being safe crossing the road. Hopefully after I make the scratch I can make a big impact on anyone that watches the scratch.

Design Situation:
The situation i am going to deal with is crossing the road which is also road safety.
I have seen that even though people are taught how to cross the road, they don't seem to actually use the rules, and they never seem to actually care about there safety, when people cross the road they think that the cars will stop but some people may not stop. I was planning to start a simple scratch to show how you can stay safe while crossing the road. I will make 2 scratches to show the dangers and to show how you can prevent that danger to happen. I hope that the scratch will help people understand that crossing the road is very important and that if anything goes wrong something could happen. When I create the scratch I want to make sure I add some sound effects, and also add a few speak bubbles and also include some information about how we need to stay safe.

 Primary Research

Question: How important is crossing the road safety?
Should road safety be enforced within specific location within a city?
Have you seen any group of people that put the public in more danger when it come to road safety?
Do you think that this is a serious topic?
How can we show people to take care of themselves while crossing the road?

Ahmed
Q1: Its really important, you have to look both ways you don't know what can happen you could get injured or even killed

Q2: Yes, because it could decrease the amount of lives being risked

Q3: Yes i have seen a lot normally in less economic developed countries because most people just risk it and run

Q4: Yes, people are risking everything and if kids play on the street and someone falls there could be a serious tragedy

Q5: You can help people by just telling them to look right and left

Dad (Safwat)

Q1: Its very important because it avoids injuries against both parties involved which an increase more hospital and emergency room visits.

Q2:  Yes, specific road safety and flashing signals should be enforced within zones such as school area ,park areas, areas where high numbers of children are present etc

Q3: Yes of course through my daily observations on the road i notice a lot of car drivers and specifically motorcycle drivers that drive carelessly without taking into consideration people walking or driving on the road

Q4: Yes, it is a serious topic because in involves the safety and the well being of everyone in the public mainly pedestrian

Q5: By educating the pedestrians as well as drivers to be cautious around road safety

Secondary Research

Most people think that crossing the road isn't dangerous when you are taking care of yourself which means that if they are looking both ways they could stay safe. But they say that it is dangerous when you are not looking both ways and that you are risking yourself by running across the street. It is a smaller chance to get hurt while cross the road and that chance is 1 out 300 million. Most people say that there are 3 steps and they are stop, look and listen, which I think is a very good tip for anyone that is crossing the road. I think that if we stay safe on the road there won’t be any dangers happening. Now Society isn't taking care of what people are doing while crossing the road some people text while crossing the road, some people try to run while crossing the road and much more.

Design Brief for crossing the road scratch
Crossing the road is been very dangers since most people are texting while crossing the road and young drivers start driving recklessly.  So I am going to create a scratch to show what happens when people don't cross the road properly and I am going to show people how to cross the road properly.  I am going to try and include a lot of motion to show how you have to cross the road properly and that is by looking left in right while crossing. I am also going to include information on how people are really not taking care of themselves. I am also going to try and include a lot of solutions like if you are crossing the while cars are driving i should be really careful and make sure the cars can see you. I am also going to try and include 3 kinds of whys people can get really hurt if they cross the road dangerously and if they aren't crossing carefully. Also for my sprites i am not quite sure yet but I am going to try and include a lot, but i am still thinking about what i should add, this is just a brief idea of what i am going to do ]

Criterion A- Inquiring and Analyzing

The evolution of computer languages Programming languages, has lasted about 200 years. In year 1957, formula translation, is the oldest language still in use. It was created by John Backus, the language was developed to perform high-level of scientific, mathematical, statistical computations. In 1960 the language was called or known as C. C was developed between 1969 and 1973 by Dennis Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for use with the Unix operating system. It was called C because it features were derived form an earlier language called B. In 1970 the language was known or called Pascal. The language was named Blaise Pascal, it was credited for inventing the first adding machine in 1641. In 1983 the language was called or known as C++. Bell Labs, Bjarne Stroustrup modified the C language to C++ and created what many consider the most popular programming language ever. In 1991 the language was known or called Python. Monty Python served as the inspiration from the name of this language. Guido Van Rossum developed Python to fix problems in the ABC language and counties to serve as its lead designer. In 2005 the language was called or known as Ruby on Rails. It was extracted by David Heinermeier Hansson from his work on Basecamp, which is a project management tool by 37singales. He first released  ruby as open source in July 2004.
